An unexpectedly absorbing article. Among the things we learned:

In summary, we could totally see Arkus-Duntov ruffling feathers at bureaucratic, top-down 1950s and ’60s GM. Were it not for his brilliance, he probably would have been shown the door, his name subsequently relegated to a footnote in the annals of automotive history.
Was not expecting that. Can’t wait to see someone (be it individual or firm) drop a Honda sport bike engine into this thing. Whoever is out there reading this: DO IT!

Somehow, we managed to overlook the fact that these were also offered as four-doors. We knew about the Sierra Sapphire, to be sure, but as far as the RS Cosworth goes, you only ever see the, er, hatchback with the almost comically large rear wing. But lo and behold, there was indeed an RS Cosworth sedan. There was even an AWD (“4×4“) version!
These do strike us as understated and handsome in their own right, arguably moreso if anything— a sort of everyman’s Lotus Carlton. And a good thousand or so pounds lighter than the Carlton, to boot. Wonder if we’ll ever see on one these shores.
Probably not— unless we ever come across the example below that was brought into Canadia.

Kind of a silly but harmless video, which some of you may have already seen. Dovetails fittingly with the scorching heat we’ve been experiencing here lately.
The solution that the protagonist comes up with in the end is unacceptable, by the way 🙂

And just for good measure, probably the nicest color we have ever seen on any Mangusta. Wow.
