Reader Laurent shared these photos of his Citroën SM in the Concorde Hall at the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace. Fantastic images!

Odd? We think not. See for yourself:
Another favorite of this blog, as longtime readers know. Regardless of how ‘up-market’ our wish list ever moves, we will never be too good for this car or for the MkI GTI. It may be an ‘entry-level’ classic, but its status (as a classic of any stripe) is firmly cemented.

Words cannot describe how much we love this. One sees so little film photography these days that coming across the occasional shot like this feels like a blast of fresh air. Film’s rough-hewn properties appeal to us on a visceral level that digital has yet to match, and perhaps never will.

In 1993, BMW introduced a new member of the E36 3-Series family, a baby brother named the 318ti. It was the first hatchback in the family since the gorgeous, sporty, and extremely rare 2002ti Touring. But other than the shared ti suffix, the 318ti had few traits in common with its predecessor. It wasn’t that quick, and by most folks standards, it wasn’t much of a looker. Nevertheless, it was still a BMW.
Not really our kind of cars (more for the Hemmings crowd, we suspect :)), nor our kind of woman, for that matter (we love the past but we’re not stuck in it), but this is kinda cool— Dita Von Teese talks cars with er, Forbes, including her 1939 Packard (painted a particularly beguiling shade of French Blue) and 1946 Ford Super Deluxe.
Anyone who appreciates and approaches cars as more than just rolling appliances – to be traded in or discarded every yea years – is alright by us, including the elegant Ms. Teese here.
