Via Speedhunters comes what appears to be racer Klaus Ludwig piloting a Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II around the Nurburgring to a first place finish during the 1992 DTM series race. Awesome.

Violating another man’s car is like hurting a member of the family, wrong. You don’t go hitting another man’s kid. We here find it non-car-lover-like to do uninvited harm (Gyro, don’t bring your future Porsche to a Giant’s game) on another man’s baby, unless you’re violating Cody Liebel’s Enzo.

I got an email from my coworker about his new car getting broken in. The assailant bust his passenger window and jacked his nav. He should have known better living in Queens, but the guy just moved from Korea. Thievery does not discriminate your origins.
A good friend of ours used to own an ’02 Civic Si, a common thief’s goldmine. For some God awful reason, people thought rocking those ugly stock Si rims was sign of modified coolness, or it meant ‘I jacked these rims sucka.’
That only leads me to say this, think twice about where you park your baby, think thrice about which baby you’ll buy in the case it may get violated…

For the most part, we here like European cars, but this is a special automobile and richly deserving of a mention. Catch the rest of the feature over at Speedhunters.

“Irving Penn, one of the 20th century’s most prolific and influential photographers of fashion and the famous, whose signature blend of classical elegance and cool minimalism was recognizable to magazine readers and museumgoers worldwide, died Wednesday morning at his home in Manhattan. He was 92.” (Published in the NYT)
Although I’m a complete newbie when it comes to photography, I appreciate good work. Apparently, Penn was a gangster when it came to taking portraits. There are many contemporary photographers I wish to imitate, and while Penn may not be my contemporary, he’s work is worth studying.
May your work continue to inspire throughout the ages Mr. Penn…

First the S4. Now the TTS. These days, Audi is dispatching of its RWD’d sort-of-crosstown rival (and let’s face it- by most measures, its heretofore superior) left and right. The global economy notwithstanding, Ingolstadt has at least a couple of important reasons to feel good lately, with perhaps more on the way.

Nevermind that I happen to think there’s little parity in the Road & Track comparo. A $13,900 price differential? Really? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised; it’s been known to happen.
Addendum: Et tu, Edmunds?
