At least back in the day they were, as we sat around in class and rattled off figures and argued stats.

Only played a bit part in the movie, but what a great little scene— as hinted at by these wonderful vignettes.

Jump to 5:14 of the first clip to see it (continues on into the second clip).
The rest of the movie is enjoyable, by the way- all the great Wes Anderson elements are there. Recommended.
Ducktail. BBS LMs. Nice.
Interesting discussion on the relative performance merits of ducktails versus other “tails” here (Rennlist).

We are nothing if not accommodating. Judging from our blog stats and search engine terms, people love this W201 so much (admittedly, so do we), we’re gonna give ’em the whole glorious set. This might be one of the nicest damn cars we have ever featured- and we have had a lot of nice cars on here. Just tremendous.
Enjoy.

Take a ride with the latest Spyder out of Stuttgart. It does make some awfully good noises.
Then step back in time to this legendary Spyder of yore:
Thanks to The Chicane for the tip.

Absolutely schick.
[The GT3] hubs now accommodate center-lock wheels, employing the same large nuts introduced on the Carrera GT. This design makes for a lighter wheel, saving a total of 6.6 pounds. But with only one nut holding each wheel in place, the tightening torque is a massive 331 lb-ft. You can apply this by being really strong, using a very large torque wrench, or springing $400 for a trick socket that incorporates a small planetary gearbox to multiply the torque from a normal-size wrench (source).
