997 911 GT3 and early 911S. My, how much we’ve grown.

Don’t miss the hairy, kerb-kissing driving heroics of one Stefan Roser (he of RUF “Yellowbird” fame) around the 4:09 and 4:15 marks.

As mentioned briefly last week. Sounds nasty.
(Clip goes on for too long, and there’s an undercurrent of douchiness (though that’s neither here nor there), but the first couple of minutes are worth listening to.)
Down the hill and into turns 3a and 3b at Pacific Raceways just outside of Seattle. This is an absolutely fantastic-looking circuit that we hope we’re able to do someday.
The Pacific Raceways Road Course is a world-class, SCCA and NASCAR certified, 10-turn (9 turns with a “kink” in the main straightaway), 2.25-mile course. The 170 MPH front straight is at an elevation of 150 feet above sea level. There is a total elevation change of 125 feet, of which 100 feet occurs in 1/2 mile, between turn 2 and turn 3B. Winding through natural wooded terrain, its sweeping curves and hairpin turns make it one of the most unique and challenging courses in the United States (source).

We’ve been enjoying the archive of one Jack Baruth lately, including this gem of a column. And that he references sages of motorsport like Ross Bentley? So much the better.
Good reading. Check it out.
