And yet, still thoroughly intoxicating. Love the black Throwing Stars— they just work on this car.

Opel Insignia OPC… Touring. Torque-vectoring Haldex AWD. 325 HP turbocharged V6. And oh, five doors and a big boot in the back.
Is this really Opel we’re talking about?

Right on the heels of the Targa California comes the 2010 Snowball Rally.

Day two of the rally:

The BaT-mobile: a short wheelbase long nose early 911T with the right wheels, right stance, and perfect auxiliary rally lights. Incredible! Suffice to say, these guys do it very, very right.

Addendum to this post: more great photos here. Looks like our idea of a great time!

Very apropos, in light of our earlier post. Anachronisms aside (it’s hard to imagine a big studio signing off on this sort of casual domestic violence now), the hydraulic suspension antics of Sa Majesté are quite entertaining.
Time sentenced to the clink for outmaneuvering a bunch of Plymouth Furies and trashing an SM? 18 months.

I would say the essence of driving pleasure is driving your car to its limits while being within your comfort zone. Doing so across the span of a few days on some of the most beautiful public roads anywhere – and with other drivers who share your passion for the open road – makes it that much better. That’s how I would define the Targa California.
Kind of amusing to imagine what might be going through the mind of this Batmobile driver (even though this was probably just a parade cruise to some Concours-type event). Were it a race, though…

Another one of these, just because we love them so much- we can never get enough.
This one appears to be wearing BBS RCs (one of our favorite set of wheels ever, and perfect on the E30 M3) as well as some nice slick or semi-slick tires, which apparently weren’t enough to for this driver to toe the limits of adhesion.

The Europeans have started taking delivery, which means we’re seeing an influx of live-from-the-field snaps from talented amateur lensmen across the Atlantic.
White Gold is such a nice contrasting color– we prefer it to Guards Red, even if the latter packs a mightier visual wallop.
