Four-door E36 M3

•May 20, 2010 • 3 Comments

This post remains popular, so we thought it deserved a follow-up. From the Recaros (and unless our eyes deceive, we appreciate that they appear to flow with the stock two-tone interior, intentionally or not), to the race studs/nuts conversion, to the exposed axle bolt look of the BBS RCs, this car is unfussy and businesslike, and that’s just the way we like it.

If we were to rock the four-door E36 M3 (and would we ever), we expect it would look somewhat similar to the example seen here.

Driven

Click to see this RSR in high res. The paint is, as they say, good from far but far from good. And that’s just fine with us. Because you just know that means this car is driven the way it was intended to be driven— hard.

It’s what lets you conduct a photoshoot of your Warsteiner-look E30 M3 on an NYPD helipad.

Race Exige

Loving the way this green-and-yellow Exige is looking at the Nurburgring 24 Hours. Incredibly, the car later caught on fire. Even more incredibly (given the harrowing footage), the driver managed to escape unharmed.

Cue ‘Lord Vader, your car is ready’ cliché. Mean-looking as hell (though their owners’ reputations now seem to precede them, at least in the UK).

E36/8 M Coupe

Loving this photo, always loved the car. They don’t share the same price point, but one of these days we’ll need to take a closer look at the clown shoe versus its successor (and another great car), the E86 M Coupe.

993 eye candy

We’re back from a little R&R (oh, and this— highly recommended).

Kicking things off again with a 993- never a bad thing. Those hips, that rear- we could ogle them all damn day. And we love it with or without the wing.

Our first Vette

It’s been a long time coming. And certainly, you don’t need to be a fan (we ourselves respect and admire, if not exactly love, them) to enjoy this clip from the VLN, which has all manner of visual and aural candy even for those who don’t quite ‘sweat the Vette’.

Sweet Miata

Pretty incredible. Didn’t think it was really possible to call a Miata beastly (as much as we like them), but we think this one comes as close as we’ve ever seen.
