Excellence

Excellence (excellence-mag.com) – “the magazine about Porsche” – is, well, an excellent source for Porsche articles and photography. Here, a technical discussion on the merits of various engine options for early 911s. Plus these great photos, one of which we’ve had on here before (but is good enough to merit reposting).

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: it’s good seeing rock chips and other badges of honor separating these serious drivers from the trailer queens.

Three Caterham Seven pics

Chilling on a sidewalk in London. Not its natural environment, but looking oddly at home nevertheless.

A look behind the wheel. What can we say— nice. The red interior trim just pops.

Patiently awaiting the next corner- its raison d’être.

We need to experience this one of these days, if even from the passenger seat. What a blast it must be.

As nice as the sum may be, the individual parts are also pretty special.

The Type 34 Karmann Ghia – designed by Sergio Sartorelli of Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Ghia – is a beautiful car. This is one of the nicer examples we’ve seen in recent memory.

Green 964

Loving it lowered on cup wheels, loving the color. Used to be that we considered certain colors to be off the table when we were younger— no more. Now those colors we once thought were among the least desirable (we’re looking at you, brown) are looking more and more attractive. We’re guessing we’re not as closed of mind now that we’re older.

The Alfaholics GTA

So money. The day we get our hands on one, we want to start making it look like this perfectly executed Italian hot rod.

Reposts, but deservingly so:
