The latest Gymkhana is more of the same, albeit in a totally awesome location
Okay, the Gymkhana shtick – however impressive – is tired. We wouldn’t exactly be sad if we never saw another one. But the filming location in the latest one is epic. We thought our Bay Area readers might get a kick out of this in particular. Did anyone happen to catch this live?
The city of San Francisco is seriously awesome for signing off on this.
Hat tip to Automobiliac!
I’m out in the ‘burbs and I had no idea they were filming this. I can’t figure out how they got the bridge to themselves and kept out all the spectators/vagrants.

Excellent point, Tamerlane. Where are all the people?!?

i’m sure they’re all off-camera— not dissimilar to tom cruise running out into an empty times square in the movie “vanilla sky”.

Definitely. I wonder what the cost difference was between what the city collected in fees from the production company vs. how much it really cost the city to execute the road closures, police details, etc.
Clearly, it wasn’t just the final filmed takes (probably done early on a Sunday morning or similarly off hours) – there was plenty of tire tracks evidencing plenty of practice time – so the whole process probably took weeks (an hour or two here and there).

At first I was “Ho an other one” but that one is actualy really nice. Seems like WRC made him do some progress

great scenery but still lame like his other videos, made for the fast & furious crowd. o would rather watch the re-creation of the bullitt chase from the last episode of alcatraz.
