Reader and MCB friend Nate sent in these shots of his E28 M5, newly acquired over the holiday. Congratulations, Nate! We hope you keep the pinstripes— we’re normally not huge fans, but the car pulls it off surprisingly well! Very cool.

As is usually the case, your post echoes my thoughts exactly! At first I was unsure of the pinstripes, because, well, ALL BLACK, and I never thought the ///M-stripes I put on my Forza BMWs would be right in real life. Alas, they grew on me even before I picked it up and now I can’t imagine it without them.
Thanks for the post! The car is even better than I’d dreamed all these years, and I look forward to continuing the care and improvement that has gone into it thus far.

E28’s seem to be the addictive drug of the motoring world. Once you own one you will never be free of one. On the other hand, I don’t mind the suffering too much myself.

Thanks guys! I’m so glad people are enjoying the blog; it was fun to keep. I’ll keep it going with some updates soon as I work on getting it ready for smog testing and the other ensuing fun that comes.
With a drug this fun, I’m not too worried about the addiction.
