Do mine eyes deceive me? Is the car between the Esprit and the Alfetta an S2000 with a Z4 style hardtop? Is that a factory option or a Mugen thing?
The twin turbo V8 (V10?) e30 is absolutely insane, and I’m not sure I mean that in a good way.

i agree. and the s2k had both oem and aftermarket hardtop options— the one shown here is definitely aftermarket (not sure which, but mugen is as good a guess as any).

The hardtop (along with the rest of the aero) is from Spoon.

That’s correct. The aero package and hardtop on the S2000 is manufactured by Spoon Sports. In a strange case of “Isn’t it a small world,” I actually took that photograph on a trip to Tokyo in 2007. The source can be found here:
