The M3 Competition Package as reviewed by The Smoking Tire

No, it isn’t Top Gear, but there are still some nice sounds and visuals here, including not just the car but also the world class driving road (California’s Pacific Coast Highway “north of San Simeon”, it’s revealed— which is actually quite helpful) on which filming takes place. Worth a watch if you’re into the E92 M3, or if you want to drool over some of the best of what California has to offer.

Interestingly enough, as nice as this car is, we’d still rather have the E46 M3 CSL given our druthers… we think.

  1. I think I’m with you on preferring the e46 M3 to the e90, although this may be sour grapes on my part about a car I can afford neither to buy nor run. Nor did I know that, as claimed in the review above, the V8 us both lighter and more willing to rev than the I6. It bears remembering, though, that we Americans were deemed unworthy of the e46 M3 CSL; it never made it to our shores.

A white, manual e46 M3 coupe remains the leading contender for my next car.

    • yup, i was going to add that the chances of my owning either an e92 m3 competition package or an e46 m3 csl anytime in the near future are just about equal: slim to none…
