From the 'you don't see that every day' files

Volkswagen CC (“Comfort Coupe”)… on the track. And you know what? It doesn’t look half bad. But then again, the CC was never a bad-looking car— far from it.

Would we ever buy one? In a word, no. We could, however, be tempted – even very tempted – by a 4Motion CC wagon (à la the CLS wagon) with a DSG dual-clutch transmission (knowing all too well that a six-speed manual would never get green-lit) and either the throaty, narrow-angle VR6 (which we have a soft spot for, but whose best days are sadly far behind it) or the very fine, very capable, and eminently-tunable 2.0T. But the chances of a five-door Comfort Coupe ever happening (regardless of gearbox, or powerplant) are, well… we won’t be holding our breath, let’s just put it that way.
