Two Alpina-shod beauties on BaT
We saw this Malaga M2 – a 2002 with an S14 as its beating heart – on BaT last week and immediately fell in love. While the consensus in the comments seems to be that the asking price is high, there’s no question that the car itself is a stunner.
Then we saw this E9 and promptly had our socks knocked off:
While we’d obviously take it in a heartbeat (although we note that it’s a project car being offered with no engine, trans, or fuel cell— meaning the asking price is only the tip of the iceberg on this one), we’d also be keenly interested in respraying it in its previous dark gray paint for a more below-the-radar look that’s just as at home on the street as it is on the track. Above all else, we love cars that see double duty.
How it looked before the racing livery— this is the look we prefer (minus the decals also):
Both sellers are doing it right, running those tasty Alpinas without the center wheel caps— a favorite look of ours. And the seller of the E9 has a couple of other interesting Bimmer listings, to boot. Temptations, temptations.
I love CSi’s/CSL’s on track! S14-powered 2002’s aren’t too bad either!
