Nicest we’ve ever seen. Love, absolutely love, the Alpina wheels without the center caps— we wouldn’t have it any other way. Mild lowering springs would complete the look, natch.

Lovely, classy stuff from Bayerische Motoren Werke. They certainly don’t make ’em like they used to.

  1. Nice BMW!

But I hate to be the guy that corrects you… But it is an E23 7-series BMW, not an E12 5-series

An even nicer example of the E23 7-series can be seen in the movie “Nothing but trouble” with Chevy Chase.

    • d’oh! title and tags have been fixed. i admit, the midsize and larger saloons that are older than the e28 stymie me (thought i had this one right, too). it doesn’t help that one almost never sees these in one’s daily travels.

      thanks for the correction!

  2. Haha. I remeber the one from Nothing But Trouble. What a great movie btw!!! I love all of Dan Akroid and John Candy’s characters. And I love the fact that Digital Underground performs for them 🙂 “My name is Humpty… Pronounced with an umpty..”

  3. Some trivia for you: The BMW 745i was produced with either a 3.2 or 3.4 litre turbo-charged engine in Europe, and marketed as such for the rest of the world.
HOWEVER, the 745i produced in South Africa uniquely carried the 286 hp (213 kW) dual-camshaft 24-valve type-M88 /3 Motorsport engine as used in the M635i, and M5. 209 of these cars were built between 1984 and 1986.
    How cool is that? 🙂
