These photos are incredible. I would love to know what settings these were shot at and what post-editing was done. I love the stark contrast (similar to my chiaroscuro style) and the narrow depth of field.
i believe they were made on a nikon d3 with a 200mm f2 prime lens, so yes, some pretty serious equipment was used. but i firmly believe that an accomplished photographer would be able to produce similar results with lesser equipment. my *guess* is that post-processing here was fairly minimal (judging from the natural-looking results), with the exception of some basic steps like levels and curves. i think light (the quality of the light) played an important role.
My guess is he’s shooting w/ a 70-200 2.8 @ 2.8 or thereabouts. Judging by the motion captured (or not), probably a shutter speed around 1/640ish. Bulgogibro is prob right re: very little post. Which, imo, is a good thing as it lends an authenticity to what he shot. Great grabs.
I’m very pleased that my shots has been taken to illustrate this blog. Photography is a hobby for me but I’ve got the chance to have great equipment. I took these shots with the combo Nikon D3 + 200 f2. This lens gives a large aperture to isolate the subject.

They are truly remarkeable images. The two 911 shots are my favorite.

The second photo just looks menacing, like it’s going to tear the forest a new one. Love it.

Love that shot of the 914. Is there any race group it can’t compete in?
