VWs old and new are near and dear to our hearts, and this one is no exception. There is some initial sticker shock (estimated base price if it were to ever come Stateside: thirty four thousand simoleons), but after considering the scant few alternatives in this decidedly niche space (premium four-door, AWD hot hatchbacks of European origin), as well as the fact that it is the Audi S3’s mechanical twin, the asking price starts to seem more sane- even reasonable.
Will we ever see one? And namely (for us, anyway), will we get the four-door? Question marks abound.
We won’t be getting these sculpted Euro-spec buckets, that’s for sure.
You may as well ogle the equally unattainable Scirocco R also, as long as you’re at it.
