also, he has done a good job of hiding one of the ugliest interiors ever! haha

Amazing car. It is funny that the article mentioned unattainability. My desire to own an Integrale would eventually lead me to buy a GR Chassis STI. I know it may be slightly tweaked reasoning, but at the time of purchase it was the only AWD, Turbo, Manual Hatchback on the market (USDM).
Looking at the form-language in the exterior (the roof spoiler and heat extraction vents on the front fenders), you can tell Subaru bench marked the Lancia while developing the GR.
And that makes me happy.

this seems like a good one to post here:

First up, its great to have MCB back after the recent WordPress DOS attack.
Classics like the Integrale are best seen through rose-tinted glasses.
History, prestige, charisma aplenty but when it comes to driving and ownership I prefer a modern.
Over the past few months I’ve managed to get wheel time behind E30 M3s, 4-cyl Porsches and an ’88 16V Integrale. All were easily blitzed by a JDM STI or EVO but I’m too old for a rice rocket so now my quest is for a good Mk5 Golf GTI, possibly the greatest all-rounder of them all..

thanks. i had heard about the outage, but wasn’t aware that this site, too, was affected. i wonder how long it was down.
re: your comment, i understand that fully. i think i have just the car for you, although the price jump versus the gti is substantial:

Down here, WordPress blogs were out from March 4 to 8/9 until local ISPs had cleared any blocks etc. A long time to be without the best car blog around.
Yes, tried a new Mk6 GTI and R, IMHO the R just doesn’t do enough to justify the extra money. The Haldex AWD system is still very much a half-assed system compared to the full time systems used by Evo X or STI.
Meanwhile the search for a nice Mk 5 continues…

Congrats on the Grale!
I’ve owned an 89 8v and now own a 94 EVO with the same spec as yours. Having also owned an 04 STI (built) I can attest to the fact that on pace alone the STI was much faster than the EVO (350+ vs 215 will do that) but the experience of the Lancia is far superior; these cars talk to you like few others. I also own an 88 M3 and so get to compare the Delta and M3 first hand. Different and both wonderful. The integrale is a fantastic drivers car and today a great investment. Enjoy!
