Ohh baby

Still one of our favorite cars ever, dating back to our youth— this would probably make our ‘top ten’ list. And if it didn’t, we would need to find a way to make room for it.

The example shown here – in what we consider to be the de rigueur color combination for this car – can be yours for only (only?) $13K. Of course, the subsequent cost of parts and ongoing maintenance might quickly engulf the temptingly low initial cost of buy-in. Or possibly not— anyone care to conjecture (educated or otherwise)?

(H/t to BaT, as always.)

  1. This makes up for all the new cars you north Americans miss. I’d snap this one up and cry over the bills for 12 months.

  2. what about this one?

  3. the porsche built w124 500e was the ultimate sleeper, unlike the garish stuff that passes for a modern fast mercedes.
made back when mercedes knew the meaning of build quality.
that’s a lot of car for $13k, someone but it !

  4. Oh man, that thing is a tank. The styling of the E500 is classic — that kind of squared, intimidating look does well with age. Compare to the S500 of the same vintage to see how not to make timeless styling.

Mechanically speaking, I’m guessing all the dated early 90s computer components will give hell to it’s next owner.
